Seek Him with ALL of you and you’ll find Him🥹

“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29
Observation
This scripture was birthed from Moses speaking to the people of Israel against idolatry and disobedience . Idolatry is anything or anyone that takes up the place of God in your life. Disobedience is going against the will and commandments of God. This scripture started with “But if from there” “there” being the pits disobedience gets you in . This is one of my favourite things about the Lord. No matter how low we may find ourselves or how deep the miry clay may seem, if we truly desire to find and see Him, we definitely will. He wants to be sought after. Why ? Because He loves us recklessly . To seek God means to desire Him, to attempt to find Him, to place a request on Him and to secure Him. Seeking isn’t done passively. It means looking, looking and looking again until you find Him. The requirements in this scripture even confirms this. To find Him will require not some but all of your heart and soul . Could this possibly mean your mind may be looking for Him for instance but your actions which is your will doesn’t reflect that of one who is looking for Him.Yes absolutely! there’s people that have God in their mind convincing themselves for the “right” time in life to pursue Him but haven’t taken the action to. Question is, is tomorrow really promised ?
Application
To make room for God we need to first tear down idols in our lives. Idols cannot co exist with God. Idols take up all the room in your life. Why? They require the same attention God does and that’s why they are called “idols” . Simply put, anything you love more than your obedience to God is an idol. They take up the rooms which the Lord our God also wants us to host Him in . That is all our heart and our soul. When we take the soul for instance it is made up of our will, emotions and mind. Ask yourself this question “What consumes my mind the most ?” Because what consumes your mind the most also affects how you feel which is your emotions and this in the long run will affect how you behave , which is your “will” in action . It’s like a domino effect. Hence, God wants all of us in our entirety . It’s in a place of total surrender and fixing your gaze on finding Him with everything You have, that’s exactly when You find Him. We know no one meets the Lord and remains the same .
Actively look for Him with all of you and you will find Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You God for today. Thank You for being a great God. It is by your mercies that I’m alive. I plead for forgiveness where I’ve sinned against You. I ask You to tear down any idols in my life. Help me to seek You with all my heart and soul in Jesus Name I pray amen .
