Only one name saves.

“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.“ Acts 4:12
Observation
This scripture was birthed from Peter , a disciple of God. The journey of Peter as a disciple is very profound because once upon a time , He didn’t have this boldness to speak about Jesus. In fact He denied him (Luke 22:61) . However as we can see in this scripture, Peter now had the boldness to make a statement that could potentially ruffle some feathers. First and foremost what is salvation ? Salvation is being delivered , preserved and kept safe from the utter ruin sin brings forth. This scripture is letting us know we can’t find safety, deliverance or peace in anyone or anything except in one name. It’s easy to resort to the things of the word such as alcohol, sex, partying etc to hide or mask a suffering we’re going through but truthfully it only brings about relief for a short period of time. This scripture makes it clear, there’s only one name which is “Jesus Christ” not any other name from any other religion that can save us. Not just save us but save us and bring us into eternal life (John 3:16).
Application
This goes on to show that as disciples of God, our walk with Christ is a journey . Yes whilst we may have permission to be babes in the Lord (1 Corinthians 3:1-2) there comes a time where growth will be required of us. There comes a time where we should be bold for the things of the Lord as Peter was. We need to call a spade a spade. For instance, we live in a generation where sexual activity outside the boundaries of marriage has been widely accepted by society. However as a child of God, you should not give in to the pressure. In fact we should be able to say the truth and pull others we know out of error (Jude 1:23) . If we’re looking for true and lasting freedom the only one we can find it from is Jesus Christ. It’s important to live life according to His blue print which can be found in His word (the Bible). All you have to do is to call on the name Jesus Christ with a heart of repentance . (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today. May Your word hide in my heart Lord. Where I have relied on other things or false gods for salvation please show me mercy. May You forgive me of my sins and offer Your salvation to me in every area of my life in Jesus name I pray amen.
