He knows ALL about you.
Scripture
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Application
This scripture are words that the Lord Himself told Jeremiah. It’s applicable to us because Jeremiah just like us, was a child of God. Infact, He was a youth when the Lord spoke to Him. What strikes me about this scripture is the fact that even though God knows us before our lives begin, if we make the wrong choices and neglect Him during the course of our lives , He makes it clear that he no longer knows us . We can see this narrative clearly in Matthew 7:21-23. Meaning, though we have free will we need to use that free will to make sure that we align ourselves to the will of God. Looking back at our core scripture, God saying He knows us means He’s aware of our strengths , weaknesses, gifts , personalities, nuances etc (yes God is into the details even when we look at creation). It’s safe then to say, if a person hasn’t taken out time to know God , develop ongoing intimacy with Him and aligning themselves to His will then they may be living a false identity. (Colossians 3:3) . A part of Jeremiah’s identity was a prophet but who are we in Christ ?
Observation
We’re not here to do life anyhow we desire to. There’s an identity and purpose God knows about each and every one of us before we had air in our lungs. We need to make the conscious effort to pause and ask God “what is your will for my life ? ” once we have this information we need to then ask how we get into alignment and the necessary steps and preparation we need to take to fall into it . Intimacy with God is a non negotiable, in order to know who we are we need to get to know Christ . Due to the fact that we are set apart and sanctified we shouldn’t allow the enemy bully us with shame and condemnation. All God wants us to do is to come to Him with a heart of humility and repentance whenever we sin against Him. We need to form friendship with the Holy Spirit as He will lead us into all truth.
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for choosing me . Thank You for setting out a purpose in my life. Holy Spirit please lead me to all truth so I may find my true identity in Christ. Help me to discern and to walk out Your will in Jesus name I pray Amen.
