Have you not been commanded to be strong and courageous ?

“This is My command, be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Observation
This is a scripture that had me thinking that being a Christian is definitely not a walk in the park. If we’re being commanded to be strong and courageous then it means situations will arise either with us or others that’ll require us to be strong and courageous. This scripture was birthed when God was letting Joshua know the role and responsibility he had to arise to after Moses’ death.
Mirroring this to you and I, we are called by God for His good works in advance (Ephesians 2:10) and as humans it can be very intimidating when God is calling you to an assignment. It’s easy to feel unequipped however we see many bible characters like Moses feel this way. (Exodus 4:10) . Being strong isn’t just limited to physical strength but other areas such as mental and emotional strength. Courage may not necessarily eliminate the fear but it’s what drives you to still face hard and difficult situations. The simple reason we can do this is because of who we do it with, God.
Application
Strength and courage does not come because you believe you can achieve or do something. It is birthed from knowing and believing WHO is with you. It is those who know their God that will do great exploits (Daniel 11:32). God is not a man that He should lie. Battles belong to God (Exodus 14:14). Strength and courage is needed to execute the commandments of God in your life also. Whenever we find ourselves in difficult situations, it’s important to remember that God will never leave us nor forsake us. No mater how hard it gets, find rest in the fact that God doesn’t go back on His word . So if He says He will fight for you then He most definitely will. If He says He’s with you then He most definitely is with you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your promise today. I let go of the former and the old . I come into agreement with the new You’re doing in my life . Help me where I am struggling with unbelief in Jesus Name I pray amen.
