God’s plan for you.
Scripture
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Observation
This scripture is an encouraging scripture for me. Reason I say this is because as humans it’s very easy to look at your current circumstance and be discouraged. We start the year with so many goals, plans and hopes in different areas of our lives. Half way through the year, if we’re to do a reflection it may feel as though we’re stagnant or haven’t achieved much. It’s also not always easy to see those around you achieve what you’d hope to achieve. It may not always be a feeling of jealousy but disappointment in yourself for not achieving what you’d hope to. However in this scripture, God is reminding us that He knows the plans He has for us . It’s refreshing to hear because it allows you to understand that God is not done with you yet. What makes it even better is the fact that what you think He’s going to do, He’s able to do exceedingly above that (Ephesians 3:20). Furthermore it’s not God’s will for us to go through sudden terror or calamity. He cares for us and wants us to walk into a bright future.
Application
One of the popular question always asked is, if God is so good why do bad things happen? It’s important to remember that as humans we have free will. Now the wages of sin we know is death. When we walk in the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) we allow the enemy access into our lives. We know he only comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Our sinful nature always leads us to destruction and this is why it’s important to walk in the spirit (Galatians 5:16) to be under the covering of God at all times. Whenever we’re discouraged because we feel stagnant or we feel as though the promises of God are not manifesting in our lives, it’s important to remember this scripture. Psalms 138:2 lets us know that God has exalted His word even above His name. Whatever plan God is up to, we need to believe that it’ll not lead us to disaster but come to manifestation . In a place of prayer we need to enquire and ask God , what are the plans He has for us ? What should we be doing or not doing to make sure that these plans come to manifestation.
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today. Thank You for the plans that You have for me. Open my eyes to see the works of the flesh I’m indulging in that’s preventing Your plans to come to fruition in Jesus name I pray Amen.
