To Him who is able to do exceedingly!
Scripture
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." - Ephesians 3:20
Observation
We serve an able God. Able means He’s capable of , He has the power, skill, means, or opportunity to do something. Which means whatever is about to follow up that He’s able to do, I need to pay attention to. I’m about to be exposed to the character and ability of God in this scripture . Exceedingly means to a great extent, over and beyond but it doesn’t end there, the scripture also adds “abundantly “..Abundantly means in large quantities, plentiful and beyond measure . God is able to do all this not with just “some” things we ask for or think about but with “ALL” things . This is music to my ears because it means there is no exception to this claim. However this becomes a reality according to the power that works in us.
Application
Knowing this about the Lord, I need to put my full trust in Him because He’s more than able . I need to also seize to ask small or think small . Today’s world will tell you to be “realistic “ but this scripture suggests otherwise. I need to ask the Lord for massive things knowing He's even going to do above and beyond. I need to also allow for my imagination to not be confined in my current circumstance because it’s evident God sees and does a lot with what we think about . This also looks like walking in faith and not by sight because I know the character of God . He doesn’t lie or change His mind .
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today. Thank You for being a God who does exceedingly abundantly all that I can think or imagine. Where I have limiting beliefs, please help me to set my gaze on You and not my circumstance or reality . I give You access to be Lord over my mind , spirit and body. Let Your will be done in my life. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
