Fear not.
Scripture
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” Isaiah 41:10
Observation
Prior to this scripture, the people of God had every right to be afraid. This is such a relatable situation to be in. As a child of God , we share not only in glory of God but in His sufferings. Until Jesus comes back, there are unpleasant situations we will go through that can place us in a state of fear and panic. However this core scripture is God’s response to us. Our basis of not fearing is not because we’re physically stronger than the situation but in knowing that God is with us. Scripture says, if God be for you then who can be against you? (Romans 8:31) All power belongs to God so there’s nothing to be afraid of (Psalms 62:11)
Application
To even deal with any emotion , you need to recognise what it is , acknowledge that yes you feel it but don’t dwell in it . The Bible lets us know that the righteous fall 7 times but rise up again . Do not be surprised when arrows and fiery darts are thrown your way from the enemy. Yes the adversary will try to take you down physically, emotionally or spiritually but believe that they will flee in different directions. (Deuteronomy 28:7) . How are we certain of this ? Because the one whom all power belongs to is on our side. We ought to go to God for strength and one of the guaranteed ways of receiving strength is to wait (hoping , eagerly expecting) on God. If God is saying He will help and strengthen us then we need to believe He’ll do just that because He’s not a man that He should lie.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word today, May Your word hide in my heart. Help me to lean on You for strength. Help me to overcome fear and to fully trust that You can help me in all situations, in Jesus Name I pray Amen.
