Even in trials, count it all joy.

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4
Observation
This scripture was from a disciple of God who goes by the name “James”. This is someone who walked with Jesus. This means he’s gone through the path we (disciples of God) are also going through. Truth be told, it’s a hard pill to swallow when you’re told to be joyful in the face of trials or adversity . When we fall into trials all we’re looking for is solutions to come out of our state . As a matter of fact, many of us may go through trials with moaning and complaining. However let’s think about it , how do we know we truly have faith if it’s not tested ? How do you know you truly trust God if you’re not placed in a situation where you have to fully trust in Him? Patience is a good fruit to have because it allows us to not make rushed decisions, it also allows us to trust in God’s timing and not covet what others have. Furthermore it also allows us to be tolerable to the flaws of others which helps maintain godly relationships and friendships. So in hindsight we truly are made perfect and complete even in trials.
Application
How does one really count it joy or remember to be joyful in the face of hardships and trials ? It’s coming to the understanding that Christ is our hope of glory. Meaning , no matter what we go through there’s an assurance that there’s glory in the end (Romans 8:28 /Proverbs 4:18) . We’re not in a losing battle. It’s a battle that has already been won we just need to walk it out . Most importantly , God will never put you through anything you cannot bear (1 Corinthians 10:13) . Scripture also tells us seasons are in the hands of God. Nothing will last forever, so far as we’re alive having a “this too shall pass” mindset helps a great deal. God works out all things (even the ugly) for our good. It’s important to trust in God and to not lean on our own understanding. God’s ways truly are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8) . Even reflecting back at certain trials you’ve overcome thus far, you can bear witness to this fact. If we’re impatient people then scripture lets us understand one of the ways to correct that will be going through trials and tribulations .
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today. Grant me the grace that I need to endure trials and tribulation. Help me to count it all joy and to put my hope in You in Jesus name I pray amen.
