Easter is over, what next ?

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
Observation
These are words Jesus spoke to His disciples after He resurrected from His death . Just like other scriptures, we can’t take this scripture lightly. The festivities of Easter (which included the death and resurrection of Jesus) is over but the real work now begins. This scripture affirms that the work doesn’t end when you’re saved by Jesus’ blood. In fact it only begins when you’re saved. We are commanded to go and make disciples of all the nations. Evangelism may seem daunting but it’s important to also remember it’s not a suggestion but a commandment from God Who is always with us. Just as we have come into the knowledge of truth there’s many people out there still in darkness. As Christians, we are to spread the good news, teachings and commandments of God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Application
As a child of God you need to ask yourself do I just celebrate Easter because it’s become a norm or am I obeying the commandments that was birthed out from the good news of Easter. Evangelism is a non negotiable. To make disciples “of all nations “ implies evangelism can be done whenever and anywhere to whomever. No one is exempt from hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Even the one you think is Christian because “they were born into a Christian house hold “. You’ll be surprised the average Christian may not know the two requirements to get saved (Romans 10:9) . As a Christian you shouldn’t gate keep your knowledge in the kingdom as it defeats the purpose of discipleship. The goal is for others to also join us in the faith and to get baptised. Even after baptism, it’s important new converts are going to Bible believing churches to learn more on the commandments and faith . Yes it’s important to evangelise but it’s even more important to also learn the ways of the kingdom and at basic level the gospel so you don’t lead others into error when you’re teaching them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for dying on the cross to atone for my sins. Thank You that Your sacrifice has granted me access to eternal life. I pray that I steward this grace properly. Grant me the boldness and the knowledge to spread this good news in Jesus name I pray amen.
