Deliverance upon mount Zion!
Scripture
“But upon Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” Obadiah 1:17
Observation
This is a profound scripture from the bible because it came about at a time where the people of God (ie you and I) had gone through affliction, loss , calamity, captivity, destruction, oppression from their enemies etc. Till date, the response of God to His children is very useful and beneficial to us because we live in a world full of troubles . Now just because you’re a child of God doesn’t mean you’re exempt from afflictions. Both the ungodly and the godly go through afflictions. The bible also confirms that many are the afflictions of the righteous but The Lord delivers them from ALL (Psalms 34:19) Until Jesus has returned back in His full glory to redeem us, we will share in His sufferings (Titus 2:13-14) . The difference between us and the ungodly is that we have hope. We know there is deliverance. Mount Zion is known to be city of God, a dwelling place for Him and His people . One thing I noticed is that once deliverance happens you don’t jump straight to possession, there has to be holiness . Deliverance isn’t just a demonic spirit manifesting violently through you but it’s escaping from any form of hardship, affliction, sickness, etc the list goes on and on.
Application
Deliverance happens in the camp of God. So when you’ve not been saved from our many afflictions and infirmities the question then is where are you ? Are you aligned or standing where deliverance can be found ? If you’re outside the camp of God then you’re in the world. You’re living in sin , continually yielding to where the wind in the world is blowing you. How can we receive deliverance in the camp of the enemy ? The same one who brings these afflictions to us ? (John 10:10) Once you’ve been delivered, it is very important that you actively live a life of holiness. If not, you’ll fall back into that which had you afflicted . Infact when you do fall, you might be worse off than you were(Matthew 12:45) . Holiness is a non negotiable, fight to keep it like your life depends on it because it truly does. Stand on the word of God and reclaim everything the enemy stole, killed or destroyed.
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today. Thank You for hope and deliverance upon mount Zion. May You place me where I can be delivered. As I stand upon mount zion I receive my deliverance. Satan your reign in my life has come to an end . Father, may You help me to live a life of holiness. Where I keep falling back into sin, may You help me to overcome it. May You also help me to reclaim all the enemy has taken away because Your word says in John 10:10 that You’ve come that I may have abundant life. I decree whatever has been stolen from me is returned in 7 fold (Joel 2:25), I declare that the resurrecting power of Christ will resurrect anything dead in my life. I claim my possessions In Jesus Name I pray Amen.
