Call unto Him but wait till He answers.

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
Observation
We don’t serve a God that wants to keep us in the dark. Prior to this scripture, the Lord had been revealing to the prophet Jeremiah all the plans He had for His people; both good and bad (because they were operating from a place of wickedness) . First of all, we know that God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19) . He is truth and so if He is saying when we call Him, He will answer, then indeed He will answer. One thing I also observed from this scripture is we are shown when we ask. Our walk with God requires active participation. God is not willing to show us only surface level mysteries but He wants us to see and know deeper mysteries about things that are coming our way and life.
Application
Our walk with God requires active participation. We ask , He gives. We knock and the door is opened. We seek and we find (Matthew 7:7) This is an invitation from the Lord Himself and any invitation can be rejected or honoured, the ball is in our court. Our relationship and communication with God through ways such as prayer was never meant to be a monologue but a dialogue. A lot of us have the habit of just talking and talking and leave without actively waiting to hear back from God. Sometimes we may not get a respond straight away but we know that there is always an advantage to those who wait upon the Lord (Isaiah 40:31)
Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today. May Your word hide in my heart. I call unto You this day and I ask that You show me great and mighty things I do not know. Please open my eyes and mind to see and understand deeper mysteries concerning my life and the kingdom of God in Jesus name I pray amen.
