The conversations you don’t have with God, you’ll have with Satan.
Scripture
”Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”- Phillipians 4:6-7
Observation
This scripture makes us know that there is no exception to “worrying” . No matter what could potentially make you worried, we are commanded to not worry. “Don’t worry” is a commandment not a suggestion. Meaning, it requires our obedience and submission. One thing I love about this scripture is that it reinforces that there’s nothing too silly to pray about. We are told to pray about everything no matter how big or small. God cares about us and our needs. He wants us to come to Him with everything. I also observed that the mentioning of “God’s peace” suggests there’s another type of peace . A false kind of “peace” that the world gives us (John 14:27) . Things we may indulge in that’ll bring us a false kind of peace include drinking, isolation, sexual immorality etc. The peace that this world has to offer is not lasting, it’s wrapped in deception also. Let’s take a look at alcohol for instance, one of things people resort to de-stress them. Yes it may have worked for a very short while but it’s left you as an alcoholic. It reaffirms the deception of this world which of course is ruled by it’s prince , satan (John 14:30). We also know he has nothing good to offer, for he himself is the master of deception. Why then would his domain, ie the world also have sth good to offer ? - food for thought. We are also assured that in a place of prayer we receive peace in our hearts and mind.
Application
There’s a reason why Jesus told us to not worry about tomorrow because today has its own problems (Matthew 6:34) . Indeed if we’re honest with ourselves, each day has it’s own problems, goals and expectations that needs to be met. Taking each day at a time allows your mind to focus and to not wonder. Waking up everyday and submitting your day to God should be a habit. It sets you up for His peace and grace.Sometimes it takes achieving small victories day by day for you to look back and see how far you’ve come. Worry adds no value to the problem so it’s pointless. Whenever we find our minds beginning to wonder, the call of action this scripture points us to is prayer. It’s safe to say a prayer-less Christian is a Christian that has the walls of their mind down. I always say the conversations you don’t have with God in a place of prayer, you’ll have with the enemy. We are encouraged to go to our Father and lay our requests before Him. Whenever you find your mind wondering on an issue, turn it into a prayer. Give no room for the enemy. There’s a reason we are told to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). The absence of peace in your heart and mind even during storms shows the absence of a prayer altar in your life.
