Stand still and see the salvation of God

Stand still and see the salvation of God

Scripture

”For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.” Psalms 44:3

Observation

This scripture was birthed from a group of people called the “sons of Korah “. Prior to this scripture, they were reaffirming what they heard from their forefathers about the deeds of God. God had come through tremendously for their fathers against all the nations that came against them. It was solely the doing of God .

Mirroring this scripture to our everyday life, there’s certain achievements and break throughs we can’t work our way into or war for . There’s certain doors and places even your connections and your status will not give you access to. There’s certain territories you can’t conquer leaning on your own efforts and resources. There’s certain job roles you can’t occupy unless by the mighty hand of God. Yes we do partner with God but sometimes we have to stand still and see God “do it all” so we can’t even afford to steal His glory even if we tried. I’m reminded of the scripture that states by strength shall no man prevail (1 Samuel 2:9) .

This scripture should stir up a deeper sense of dependency on God especially when you’ve tried all you can and all odds are against you . When God enters a situation He makes the impossible possible, once the attention and the hand of God is in that situation.

Application

The works of God is to be shared in our lives. Whenever we receive testimonies and we share them as led by the Holy Spirit it always brings glory to God. Why ? It’s in a place of sharing what God has done that people first come to see the mighty hand of God and what He’s able to do . In addition to this, people’s faith are stirred up especially if they are going through something similar. Most importantly we draw hearts of true worship and praises of people to God . It is vain for you to wake up early and stay up late only to eat the bread of sorrows (Psalms 127:2). God wants us to call unto Him, to call Him always in our times of need. Yes there’s a time to war and to utilise your strength but sometimes all you have to do is to stand still and know that God is GOD. He’s a man of war (Exodus 15:3). How else will you know He’s a provider unless you’ve tried everything but still feel stagnant and at a loss ? How else will you know He’s a healer unless you did everything right by the books and still fell ill ? Dare to believe and to have faith in God. It’s important we know how much God loves us and to come to the understanding of this. When we have revelation on this truth only then shall we truly believe that He’s our saviour Who will never leave us nor forsake us.

Prayer

Heavenly Father thank You for Your word today . Thank You for all the battles I feel weak and in-equipped to fight because it’s an opportunity for Your right hand and Your countenance to step in to win the victory. Help me to discern when to war and when to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. In Jesus Name I pray amen.
